What a Week

This has been a very stressful and emotional week. My grandpa went to the ER last Tuesday because and ended up in the ICU because 3 weeks prior he was in a car accident and his arm that was all cut up was getting worse and very infected. They took him into surgery that night and he went into cardiac arrest because the infection had gone through out his body. He was on life support all day Wednesday and I had to say my final goodbye and that I loved him. He was taken off of life support on Thurs morning and died shortly after. It has a been a crazy week. I had know idea that I was going to lose my grandpa. It happened all of a sudden.
He was the best grandpa ever!! He was the most positive person I have ever known. He is always making something positive out of a bad situation. He was a tease. He was always teasing us and always there to help us when we needed it. I am going to miss my grandpa so much!! I had a chance to sit with him on Wed with no one around and I told him to find Pee Wee and meet him and tell him that he has to be an angel for Wade and I since he won't get the chance to meet Pee Wee here when he is born. I was also able to talk to him about funny experiences I have had growing up with him.
At the funeral yesterday there were some navy boys there that did a flag ceremony since my grandpa served in WW2. It was so awesome!! I was already crying but seeing that made it even worse. After the bugle boy was done playing the song and they folded the flag they went over to my grandma got down on one knee and said"On behalf of the President of the United Stated of America ...." then went on thanking my grandma for my grandpa's service in the Navy. It was so cool.
I am so glad that I have a knowledge of the gospel and even though it is sad losing my grandpa I know that I will see him again. I am so grateful that I live in the United States of America. I love the freedom that we have and am so grateful for those that fight so that I can have my freedom. I am going to miss my grandpa and love him with all my heart but I know that he is having his own reunion with his parents and sister.

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandpa, Taryn! It's never fun to lose a family member. I think the military presentations are neat as well; I got a little teary reading your experience while remember my own grandpa's funeral a couple of years ago. Anyway, I hope you and Wade are great (all things considered).

So sorry to hear about your grandpa Taryn. It's especially sad when its so sudden like that. I lost both of my grandpas this year and was sad that Kyson did not get to meet them here but I like to think they got to hang out a little before he was born!

I am sorry to hear the news. What a hard week. I am so glad you got to say your good-byes, though. I can somewhat relate. I got a call on Sunday morning from my sister telling me that my grandma died early that morning. We were expecting it, but it is still hard. I too like to think that my grandma and Dax are getting to know each other before he gets here. I hope your week gets a little better.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandpa. I'm sure it was especially hard losing him so sudden and not expecting it! It's so nice to know that you will be able to see him again and that he will always be watching over you guys, and I'm sure he is living it up with your little one before he/she comes!

I am so sorry about your Grandpa. Not expecting his death makes it worse. I too am so thankful for the gospel and the knowledge it gives us. I hope this next week is better for you.
